Collision Devices Tars Deluxe Dual Fuzz Filter Pedal
The TARS DLX is a dual fuzz and analogue filter powerhouse, built around a pair of MS-20 inspired filters. It's one of the few pedals out there offering fully resonant 4-pole low pass and high pass filtering, making it equally at home as a precise tone-shaping tool or a full blown noise machine.
An evolution of the original TARS, the DLX version pushes things further across the board.
The fuzz circuit has been reworked with a more open top end, giving you a much wider usable range. At lower gain settings it delivers smooth, low-gain fuzz and distortion tones, while cranking it introduces a far more aggressive, saturated character. A second fuzz mode, “BLAST”, feeds part of the circuit back into itself, producing a raw, burning, almost unstable texture suited to heavier and more experimental sounds.
Both filters have been refined to better handle low frequency content, making the TARS DLX particularly strong on bass and sub-heavy sources. It works just as well as a clean blend tool or inserted into a mix for detailed filtering and shaping.
The unique “ADD FUZZ” configuration expands things further, layering a filtered fuzz signal alongside the main path. With the addition of a high pass stage after the low pass, this opens up complex EQ shaping and phase-like effects that aren't typically possible in a single pedal.
Fuzz and filters can be run independently, in parallel, or in series, giving you a huge range of routing options.
