Built in Port Fairy to the specs of Australian guitarist and all round nice lovely guy Jimi Hocking, this one-off custom pairs ancient Tasmanian Huon Pine with a stripped-back control layout and a seriously resonant feel. The 2500-year-old Huon Pine body keeps things light at 3.6kg, while the handwound David Paul Orpheus P90s cover everything from dry, woody cleans to thick midrange grind. The wraparound bridge and 24 3/4" scale give it a slinky, immediate response, and the blackwood appointments and subtle pearl inlays keep the whole thing understated without feeling plain. A beautifully made Australian custom with a lot of personality.
