Released at the start of E-mu's rack era, the Proteus 1 set the template for compact, studio-ready sound modules. This 1U unit pulls from the EIII sample library, packing a broad mix of bread-and-butter tones like pianos, strings, horns, guitars, basses and drums into an affordable, compact format. Built for sequencing setups, it runs 16-part multitimbral with 32 voices of polyphony, backed by 16-bit ROM samples and flexible routing via multiple outputs.
